The project titled “Connecting Ethiopian Women and Youth Entrepreneurs to the Export Market: A Case of AfCFTA” is a capacity building project supported by Australian Embassy’s, Ethiopia Direct Aid Program (DAP) and is implemented by YCDF from January – December 2024. The primary goal of this project is to build the capacity of 30 potential women and youth entrepreneurs in SMEs producing value added Coffee, Leather, Fruits and Vegetables products for export marketing within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The scheme focuses on enhancing the SMEs’ competency in the export market through a comprehensive capacity-building program that includes baseline surveys, skills training, coaching, and mentorship.
The general goal of the AfCFTA is to improve intra-Africa trade and boost the African trading position in the world market. On Women and Youth entrepreneurs AfCFTA also aims to support and enhance the effective participation of Women and Youth in Trade in intra-Africa trade.
Target Group:
The project targeted 30 SMEs found in Amhara, Tigray, and Addis Ababa. Supported SMEs in producing value-added Coffee, Leather, Fruits, and Vegetables products for export
